Major technical development works

Home page 6a Innovative development of the Group Major technical development works

In the 12 months ended 31 December 2016 the Group carried out development works in respect of the offered product portfolio, by introducing new products or improvement of those already in the offer.

The development works included:

  • a successfully completed type test of the MV circuit breaker adjusted for operation in the SF6 insulated switchgear – technical characteristics: 24kV; 1250A; 25kA/3s;
  • installation of a rectifier unit in a railway traction substation, in order to perform tests in operating conditions,
  • design and construction of a prototype of D-17-2S switchgear with double busbar system provided with new type disconnecting switches, disconnector drives, circuit breakers, earthing switches, bushings - successfully type tested in the Electrotechnical Institute,
  • development and implementation for production of D-12P 50kA switchgear with 3TL62 contactors,
  • development and implementation of a new variant of PREM-G1dM switchgear provided with manufactured by ELEKTROBUDOWA SA motor-operated earthing switch,
  • construction and tests of DC switchgear RT-3, provided with IR 6040 circuit breaker, successfully completed,
  • development and construction tests of D-40P switchgear provided with HVX 40.5kV circuit breakers (rated continuous current of the switchgear is increased to 2500A and 3s short circuit current increased to 31.5kA) - successfully type tested in the Electrotechnical Institute;
  • construction of a prototype in order to perform complementary type tests of D-17P switchgear provided with VD4 and EV1 circuit-breakers;
  • construction of prototypes and starting the complementary tests of LV switchgear type NGWR – tests performed in accordance with the currently applicable standard PN-EN 61439, for the 1s short-circuit current of 100kA,
  • construction of gas insulated busbar GIL 123kV (3s short-circuit current 40kA, rated current 3150A) – making a prototype and performing partial type tests (successful),
  • construction of an isolating switch module MID for OPTIMA-145 switchgear;
  • construction of 800mm busbar module for GIS switchgear – successful type tests and completion of the certificate;
  • starting the works on GIS 145kV (3s short circuit current 50kA, rated current 4000A) - ELEKTROBUDOWA SA ceased to continue the works and terminated the agreement for additional funding concluded with NCBiR;
  • partial preparation of construction specifications of “after-phase” drive of HV circuit breaker for GIS switchgear,
  • works on a MV protection unit carried by ENERGOTEST Sp. z o.o.,
  • works on ET-DCS controller carried by ENERGOTEST Sp. z o.o.,
  • development of interposing relays carried by ENERGOTEST Sp. z o.o.

Major plans for technical development works in H1 2017:

  • completion of complementary tests of LV switchgear type NGWR – tests will be performed in accordance with the standard PN-EN 61439, for the 1s short-circuit current of 100kA;
  • preparation of specifications and construction of a prototype of 17.5kV, 1250A, 31.5kA switchgear with double busbar system – the switchgear will be a successor of D-17P manufactured so far; its features, which are to increase market opportunities, include: reduced overall dimensions, optional installation of sensors, cheaper, miniature bushings, improved construction of some interlocks and drives, cheaper motor drive of the earthing switch, “unmanned” auxiliary circuits connection, medium voltage circuit breaker EV1 mounted from imported elements;
  • complementary type tests of UMR earthing switches for the 31.5kA level of short circuit;
  • complementary type tests of D-17P switchgear provided with VD4 and EV1 circuit breakers;
  • preparation of construction specifications and drawings of low voltage draw-out switchgear, for the parameters: 1kV; 7500A; 105kA/1s – the implementation has the purpose of standardization of manufacture of this class switchgear through substituting the so far manufactured NGWR and RNM-2 switchgear by the new one;
  • implementation of changes to the construction of OPTIMA-145 switchgear, with the objective of satisfying new market requirements: increasing the degree of protection od drive enclosures, site tests for minus 25 C⁰ operating temperature, new ratchet system of the circuit breaker, complementary tests of MID module;
  • complementary type tests of GIL busduct;
  • certification of OPTIMA-145 switchgear for conformity to GOST standards;
  • construction and testing of voltage transformer for OPTIMA-145;
  • specification and drawings of a prototype of overhead, compact module GIS – OPTIMA - 145 AIR;
  • continuation of works on a MV protection unit carried by ENERGOTEST Sp. z o.o.,
  • continuation of works on ET-DCS controller carried by ENERGOTEST Sp. z o.o.,
  • continuation of development of interposing relays carried by ENERGOTEST Sp. z o.o.
